Cold River Valley in Autumn

Road Committee

Stow Road Committee

The newly formed Road Committee convened on June 2, 2024, to begin tackling the critical issue of the town's road infrastructure. Recognizing the long-term emergency posed by unsafe road conditions and the limited financial capacity of many residents, the committee began by reviewing previous discussions and identifying key areas for immediate focus. Among their initial priorities is gaining a comprehensive understanding of the current year's road projects, including timelines, specifications, contractor details, and project prioritization, alongside determining the exact mileage of town and state roads within Stow.

If there is a downed tree or obstruction in a town road, please call 911. If there is a non emergency issue please call the town office and ask to speak to a Select person. For the state road (route 113), please call Maine DOT in Fryeburg: 207-935-2646

Some roads in town are closed during the winter, for the latest information please visit the US Forest Service
