GLLT's Cold River Valley Dessert Night

Town Office Closures

The town office will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labor Day. The town office will also be closed from Thursday, September 17th through Thursday September 24th. The Office will reopen on Monday, September 28th. Once again, we appreciate your understanding! We've had many changes this year. We are hoping to resolve the coverage issue soon.

Real Estate Tax Notices

The 2026 tax commitment was signed on August 11, 2026. Tax bills will be sent out within the next week. This gives residents an additional window of almost 2 months to pay taxes for the 2026 season. The December 1st deadline remains the same. Friendly Reminder - Tax lien notices for unpaid 2025 taxes will be mailed out at the end of August. To avoid additional fees, please send these payments in as well. Please feel free to reach out to the town with any questions. Thank you!

Work on Union Hill Road

Road work started on Union Hill Road today, Monday, 7/6. The work will be completed by the end of the week. Thank you for your patience!

Upcoming Road Work

Early next week, the week of June 22nd, Union Hill Road will be graded. This will be a monthly occurence, weather permitting. In addition, the entire length of Chatham Road will be graded and a finer surface material will be applied to the road. This will commence on Tuesday, June 23rd, weather permitting. This is an ongoing project and much depends on the weather and schedules of our contractors. Thank you so much for everyone's patienc in these matters.

Memorial Day Parade Monday 5/25

The Stow Conservation and Cemetery Committies invite you to the Stow Memorail Day Parade. Meet at the Corner Store at 9:30 Beverages and treats will be served. Parade will start at 10 am We will walk from the Stow Corner Store to Hillcrest Cemetery. Please come!

Road Work

Roadwork will start on Union Hill Road tomorrow, May 1st. The road will be ground and gravel applied, from the Fryeburg line to the first stretch of dirt road. Center Chatham road work will be completed shortly; the pavement has been ground and gravel applied. Due to significant upcoming price increases, the Select Board opted to expedite both projects. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

May - Important Dates

The office will be closed on May 7, 11, 12 and 14th. Regular office hours will resume on May 18th. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
