SVFD Opinion on S. Barbour Road: Feb 2024
Saco Valley Fire Association has evaluated the accessibility of the abandoned road known as South Barbour Road. The Saco Valley Fire Association has deemed it inaccessible for fire apparatus after 236 South Barbour Road due to the narrowness and unmaintained condition.

Broadband Delivery Update: March, 2023
It is not far-fetched to say that Broadband is the future for Education, Telemedicine, home based learning and business. It will be key for seniors to “be at home” longer and longer.
Thus communities that do not “get on board” will wither. (Electricity only came to Stow in 1938). This is the same imperative.

Broadband Coalition Update: April 2022
The Town of Stow Select Board [SB] has entered into an alliance of 8 towns to have a broadband internet system installed. The Town has received a $4,000 grant from Connect Maine for initial planning.

Eastern Slopes Regional Broadband (ESRB) Committee Receives ConnectME Broadband Planning Grant
The coalition of seven Maine towns known as the Eastern Slopes Regional Broadband (ESRB) committee has been awarded a $72,000 planning grant for developing options to bring fast and affordable broadband internet service to the Western Maine towns of Brownfield, Denmark, Fryeburg, Lovell, Stoneham, Stow, and Sweden.
